One-stop family support

Details:Sometimes everyone needs a little help with family life, whether it’s coping with difficult behaviour, routines, managing budgets, registering for nursery and schools, or just someone to talk to. Why not drop in to your local Strengthening Families hub and find out what help is available for families with children 0-18 years. The teams can provide support with everything from ante-natal and health visitor clinics, parenting programmes and stay and play groups to housing, benefits, training, employment and domestic violence support.

Deaf Social Coffee Morning

Date: Friday 23 March
Time: 10.30am – 1pm
Venue: Lockworks Café, Light House Media Centre, The Chubb Buildings, Fryer St, Wolverhampton WV1 1HT

Details: Informal coffee mornings every 2 weeks for deaf people to socialise and chat over tea/coffee whilst guest speakers from various organisations such as Police, Slimming World, the City Council and more attends once a month.

Dementia Information and Advice

Date: Wednesday 21 March

Venue: Wolverhampton Art Gallery, Georgian Room

Details: Wolverhampton has been recognised as a Dementia Friendly Community 2018. Come and meet some of our members who can give free information on dementia support in the city and advice on matters such as safety, legal matters and how to become dementia friendly. Partners include: Alzheimer’s Society, Trading Standards, West Midlands Police, Beacon Centre for the Blind, Healthwatch.

Mind your health

Details: Young people, parents and carers opportunity to take part in fun, free activities to improve emotional health and wellbeing. There will also be an opportunity to find out about the facilities and services available for the local community at the Hub including the gym, dance studio, badminton, table tennis, martial arts and yoga.

Family Carers Wellbeing Day

Date: Thursday 22 March

Details: If you are a carer for someone in your family, this is a day just for you! Come along and try some relaxation techniques with our Tai chi taster, take part in activities and get information to support you with your wellbeing and your caring role, including information about ‘Memory Matters’ and Support in the Community.
